Dr. Staker is a great professional and a great dentist (and a great guy). Came in with molar number 30 broken, and in pain for the past few months, and after being cut off by both Presbyterian and Medicaid years prior, I couldn't really afford dental services, but he went straight to work on doing a lot of root canals and crowns, and most of them which look like broken teeth never happened. I had to change my review from a 5 star. Dr Pacheco is great but the past few times the communication has been horrible with the front desk. I've had Prior auths that have been accepted but never got phone calls to schedule the appt until I had to call. By that time I had no insurance so it wasted both of our time. This last time I was asked to come in earlier so I had to leave work early for me get there and be told my insurance wouldn't cover the visit, again wasting both of our time and losing money. I've had a lot of bad experiences with dentists, but this was among my most pleasant! I highly recommend Comfort Dental on Alameda. Dr. Stakwr was friendly, funny, and thorough. I also appreciate the wide span of hours and that they're open on Saturdays. And unlike most other dentists you visit, they can actually see you and get you in, even without an appointment. I went to this dentist with extreme pain and noticable facial swelling. They did X-rays and then I waited for the Dr for almost an hour for him to disregard me he counted my tooth used an air flosser on one tooth told me my teeth were perfect and sent me on my way he didn't even look in my mouth for 5 minutes when I asked about the pain and swelling they said idk ask your PCP and then gave me a quote for a $312 dollar bite guard Not even 24 hours later I'm rushed to apex emergency dental. Love the evening appointment options! Dr. Pacheco was able to see me same-day for both of my emergency visits. He’s understanding and (most importantly) gentle. He walked me through the treatment plan and asked if I had any questions before taking action. I’ve had bad dental anxiety since childhood and it’s such a relief to find an office that doesn’t add to that stress. I’d recommend this office to anyone needing care.
