After being quoted hundreds of dollars less than the local dentist in Leadville, they were able to work with my schedule and get me in as a new patient quickly. Overall it was a swift and easy appointment! Dr. Emily and her assistant were incredibly efficient and were able to answer all of my questions while making sure I was comfortable for the entire visit. Felt the need to do this review after a recent experience at another practice: I am not an easy patient. I have hEDS, and with that comes issues with skin fragility, numbing medication resistance, and I can get jaw subluxations. While I did have one appointment that left my mouth pretty torn up, the people at the Silverthorne Comfort Dental always acknowledged my concerns, needs, and requirements. Staff is nice, but they do not clean your teeth. You get what you pay for. After a "clean" this April, my husband's gums now have perio disease according to a reputable dentist, even after regular brushing. Would've been nice if they had done anything but x rays at the appointment - caught the perio, cleaned the teeth, literally anything. The "clean" took less time than a regular at-home tooth brushing (so like... one minute?). They didn't even bother to floss. I broke my tooth and an old filling came out on a friday night and I was in serious pain all that night. Called them first thing Saturday morning and scored an appointment for a few hours later. The dentist didnt just do xrays and schedule the fix for a later date, he worked on the tooth immediately. Im so grateful to be sitting here, comfortable and pain free on Sunday. It would have been a long and horrible weekend without their help.
Several years ago my Dentist in Boulder did a disappearing act which was very disappointing. Hopefully, this never happens with Dr. Kacey who has proven to not only be a worthy replacement but has exceeded well beyond expectations with pain-free care. Compassionate , highly competent, good natured and willing to take the time in a busy day to thoroughly explain complexities in layman's terms.
