12 months post op, Hybrid (L5-S1 fusion, L4-L5 ESP Disc). Very grateful for the skill and professionalism of Dr Laurence McEntee. A very trustworthy surgeon. I highly recommend Dr Laurence McEntee and his team. Delivered on what he had promised and I am now functional and getting back to life with my family.
I have just had a disc replacement L3/4, and fusion L5/S1 done by Dr MCEntee. I had a previous fusion with very limited success by a different surgeon 10 years ago, and was extremely anxious about this operation, but from my initial consultation to date ( im 17 days post op) I have felt completely different. He filled me with complete confidence pre op, and his staff and the team members he surrounds himself with are also faultless. I was very happy with meeting Dr Laurence he explained all about the operation and I would recommend him to everyone the operation went very good.
It should be noted I actually requested 4 separate referrals from my GP after I researched surgeons around Australia. I wanted to meet my surgeon and interview them before I committed to such serious surgery, it is my life I'm trusting him with after all. This is spinal surgery not just any surgery. I have seen Dr McEntee twice now. Once for cervical issues and once for lumbar issues. Both times he has treated me with compassion and understanding. I lived with lower back injuries and pain for 11 years until, eventually, no amount of physio, walking or core training could keep my pain at bay. I was too afraid to have surgery because I had heard terrible stories from other people's experiences. Dr Laurence McEntee is an absolute gentleman. My wife is an anaesthetist nurse and everyone she works with highly recommended Dr McEntee and for very good reason. It’s always a good sign when people that work in hospital recommend a surgeon . I’ve had neck pain for a decade, I had chronic disc degeneration and could no longer turn my head and was living on pain killers and anti inflammatorys, I was in pain constantly. Dr McEntee performed a double anterior fusion on L5/S1, L4/L5 and a disc replacement on L3/L4. I am 4 weeks post operation and I already feel so much better, the chronic pain is no more. This man has pretty much saved my life. Many other spinal surgeons did not want anything to do with me and told me my only option was a spinal cord stimulator. I suffered a spinal injury 18 months ago in a workplace accident. I went to see Dr McEntee at GS Spine for a second opinion and he has been brilliant with the management of my injury which included two surgeries, the latest being a TDR which was successful in the elimination of my leg pain. He is very professional, supportive, understanding and definitely knows his stuff.
