I was experiencing lower back pain and looking for relief I had physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. These treatments relieved my back pain but bought on excruciating leg pain. I made an emergency visit to my GP and was sent to have an RMI which showed damage to my L3/4 and L4/5. Excellent Doctor. I had a L5/S1 lumbar fusion and 8 weeks later underwent a neck C6/C7 fusion . Dr RAO was very re-assuring, polite & compassionate. Dr RAO is very knowledgeable in his field and takes the time to explain everything in laments terms. Would recommend Dr RAO for anything spinal/nerve related.

I took my 85 year old mother to Dr Rao for neck pain. She has been suffering severe neck and shoulder pain for years but had come to the end of her endurance. Dr Rao was so comforting and full of empathy. He was very professional and knew exactly what he could do for her with surgery. Absolutely fabulous dealings. Professional, kind and helpful. How many other specialists reply to your emails on a late Sunday afternoon? Dr Rao is an asset to the medical field. I’m at the point where I will not allow anybody else to operate on me, Barr Dr Rao. Both Nina and Terri who are his clerical staff are also incredibly thorough and kind.

I was suffering from S1/L5 nerve press with lots of pain.at one point I couldn’t walk or sit properly. I admitted into private hospital where I luckily meet Dr. Rao. Dr. Rao explained me the potential cause and how to deal with it using pro-cons approach. With this approach, I felt comfortable with the surgery as Surgery was never in my option list. I had severe back/nerve pain when I first saw Dr Rao. I felt very comfortable and at ease with him. A very caring Man who explained that surgery was my only option. He sourced me the best prices for my operation from Hospital to parts needed for my Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion. I was obviously extremely nervous thinking about any form of back surgery but Dr Rao took the time to explain everything properly. Post surgery I feel terrific & slowly getting my full fitness level back to norml.

If you have a problem with your spine, Dr Rao is the doctor to go to. He makes you feel at ease and his explanations were easy to understand.We knew my husband was in the best of care. He performed a laminotomy,microdiscetomy and central canal decompression.We were very confident in his ability as a surgeon. He took the time to ring after the surgery was completed to assure me that everything had gone well. WE would highly recommend him for any spinal surgery and wish him every success.
