I came to see Dr Rao in a wheelchair, unable to weight-bear on my right leg due to the pain, and had broken my humerus in a fall as my leg had become so weak. Dr Rao arranged a cortisone injection to tide me over until my arm healed enough to withstand surgery to fuse L4/5 and release the nerve. the operation was a success; my recovery has been slow (I'm 83), but I can now walk unaided.

Do not hesitate to see this amazing Surgeon and his wonderful team. Dr Rao is a fantastic, a highly skilled, trustworthy, competent and confident surgeon, with a great team supporting him which will ensure you will feel in the very best of hands, because, quite simply - you are. Dr Rao also happens to be a wonderfully caring, warm and humorous gentleman. My Husband, in his mid 50's was bent double, in great pain and in danger of losing the nerves to use his foot before he saw Dr Rao, who immediately understood the severity o... read more

After many years living with pain in both legs , my problem was getting worse , tingling and numbness in my left leg . My gp referred me to dr Rao . On my visit with my brother we both were impressed with his assessment of my problem and he told me he could fix the course of the pain in my legs . Subject l4/5 laminectomy decompression . I will recommend Dr Rao as I’m very Happy with the outcome . Thank you Dr Rao

Dr Rao was awesome! Super knowledgeable and helpful in all aspects. Made me feel like i was in the hands of an expert and took the stress of laminotomy and discectomy surgery away as he made it seem like a real straight forward procedure. He even had videos on his website of similar procedures he had previously completed. He went above and beyond to speed up my MRI and procedure date given the severity of my bulging disk. I am now 6 weeks post op and feeling great as im almost full recovered

After a decade of doctors not willing to help he was the first to take a massive plunge. He did his due diligence and made me feel he was taking great interest in my case. He also made me feel heard about my perspective in regards to my case. His staff are also lovely and helpful. They walked me to admission when I had a little mishap and was squeezed into his schedule in the OR. He also is extremely friendly, even the nurses at my hospital complimented him. I can’t speak highly enough of him. I wish I found him sooner.

I am very grateful to have Dr Rao guide me through the process, he requested all the tests and even steroid injections before he recommended surgery for my back. I was in extreme pain when I met Dr Rao in hospital. I had no idea what was wrong. It turns out that I had a prolapsed disk and a cyst growing on my spine. Dr Rao was professional, calm, kind and had a good sense of humour. I felt totally confident that I was in good hands. In my recovery I have had the same excellent care and attention from Dr Rao and his staff. Th... read more

At 75yrs I have been to a few Docs including bladder cancer and melanoma, I was in a lot terrific pain . From the time I met Doc I was confident my problems were over , he suggested cortisone injections which we tried with no resulting loss of pain ,in all fairness he did also suggest an op in hindsight that was the way to go, on consultation he offered to do it that evening , however I delayed it for a few days and had the back op , when I woke there was no pains in my leg at all. Doc came and explained op and showed me a v... read more

Was very pleasant and introduced himself to me the day after I was admitted to hospital (he came in on a Sunday evening). He also spoke to me at length as to what he was going to do with the operation and then came to see me 3 days after my operation to make sure how I was feeling. I would highly recommend him as a surgeon. The surgery was for the left side of my back at the L4/5 but because I had a bulge on the right side as well towards the end of last year so he helped clean out the other side too
